- German Alzheimer SocietyThe German Alzheimer Society is the Federal Association of Alzheimer national, regional and local associations. It was created in 1989 as a non-profit organisation. The German Alzheimer Society’s goal is to promote the understanding and helpfulness of the population affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia related diseases, to stimulate health and socio-political initiatives, to improve the ability to cope by those affected by the disease and the ability to self-help by the families of those affected and to provide relief for caregivers through information, emotional support and local help. Moreover it also supports cooperation and technical exchanges with regional Alzheimer societies, promotes scientific research and develops and tests new forms of care.
- Hirnliga registered associationThe Hirnliga registered association was created in 1987 in Heidelberg by a group of Alzheimer researchers and doctors, in order to collect funds for Alzheimer research and to improve the situation of Alzheimer patients and their care-giving relatives. In recent years, the Hirnliga has greatly worked on the improvement of the situation of Alzheimer patients and for their care-giving relatives. It is now strengthening its position on the development of Alzheimer Research.
